Unlike last year, the weather was perfect and everyone had a terrific day.
There were some security problems getting to the bridge this year. We were stopped a few blocks before the entrance because we had backpacks and they were not allowed on the bridge. Even after explaining that the bags were diaper bags and had essential items like bottles, wipes, blankets, and diapers, we were still sent back to the car. Then we emptied the bags, put on layers of clothing and filled everyone's pockets with snacks and supplies. We were told strollers were not allowed so the boys (Adam and Brandon) loaded Sadie and June into backpack carriers and were were off. We walked all the way back up the hill to the bridge and the security officer wouldn't let us take the carriers on the bridge! What a pain! So we got out the umbrella stroller for June and Sadie was a very big girl and walked most of the day.
(Grandma Cooper talked to the security at the entrance and they said that the officer must have made a mistake and we should have been allowed to take all of our stuff, but by then it was a good hour to get the the car and back!)
We had a late fall - look how the trees are mostly still green!
Can you see the jumper leaving the platform?
Picnic on the porch after walking over the bridge.
Aunt Jill and Sadie.
Another jumper.
Dash spent the entire 4 hours in the bridge sleeping in Mommy's wrap. How wonderful!
We took a break after crossing the bridge to play and eat the delicious (and not at all nutritious bridge food) Mommy and Daddy had a turkey leg, ribbon fries and funnel cake.
June was a little out of sorts for this picture.
Sadie and June best frenemies!
Henry and Sadie with the giggles
Uncle Mike and Aunt Molly stayed in a hotel on the other side of the bridge and they met us. It is a little amazing that we found each other - there were so many more people than last year. Thank goodness for cell phones.
