July 19, 2010 Slate Run Farm

Mommy, Daddy and I went to the farm on this pretty July day.
This is Slate Run Farm a real working historic farm

I was so excited that I ran ahead of everyone.
(Plus Mommy is pretty slow with her big belly)

I loved chasing this peculiar duck around.

I sat still just long enough for Mommy to take this picture; I really had no interest in this cute little cow. ( Mommy could not believe that I didn't want to pet it - it was so cute!)

I was able to pet this BIG horse. He was all sweaty because they just plowed the field.

I loved the pigs! Daddy made sure that I kept my hands away from them, but I kept saying how CUTE they were.
(Mommy really didn't know that pigs really lie in their own feces and she was disgusted by them. She kept trying to make me go back to the calf, but I prefer the ugly animals.)

I also thought the turkey was fascinating - unlike Mommy and Daddy who agreed that the turkey is probably the ugliest animal on earth (aside from the opossum)

I did pet some lambs through the fence.
In fact, they ran over to me as I walked up because they wanted to be pet (or fed).

It was really hot.
By the way, Mommy loves this cute little shirt and Daddy thinks it looks like a poor person's tablecloth. In fact, he talked about my outfit numerous times throughout the day. Apparently Daddy hates gingham.

Looking over the bridge with Mommy.
(The ducks were swimming in the creek below to escape from me.)
In future posts, you will probably begin to see numerous pictures where I don't look at the camera. It is my new thing - to say cheese while looking at the ground or to the side.
Daddy and I were pretty good at the stilts when we worked together.

I was so tired after a long day of farm life.
This is my stalling tactic because Mommy could see a storm coming and wanted to make it to the car before the rain. I don't really understand the word "hurry" or "quickly". Mommy thinks I know exactly what they mean and then I choose to take the opposite meaning.

Look how tall the corn is! - In July
