August 14, 2010 Beaches? in Ohio?

One day we were driving around and we found the Alum Creek Dam. We also discovered a beach! Yeah, I know it is hard to believe - a beach!

On Saturday, we all went and had a great time.
It was a beautiful day!

Mommy made sure to bring cups and buckets for sand castles.

Daddy showed me how to build tunnels and then I filled the moat with water.
We all worked together to build this awesome castle!

Then Sadie had a great time destroying it.

We looked at shells.

We also practiced swimming.

August 5, 2010 Just Dance

So Aunt Jill brought over the best game - EVER?
It is called "Just Dance" and let me tell you, it makes me want to just dance.

Pawpaw is really good - especially at MC Hammer.
Barney Grandma (that is what I have named her to get it straight) prefers the disco numbers.

Daddy challenged Grandpa to a dance off - and Pawpaw dominated!
The adults said they were "tired" and "needed a break" but I danced to every song.

Here are some videos of the performances...
(even Mommy participated)

August 2, 2010 Building Towers

One day I was on a roll with my tower-building and I wanted Mommy to take a picture.
Ta-Dah!

July 25, 2010 Fun at the Linworth Park

Another day at the park.

June this dress is coming your way - Mommy says that is is a bit short.
(And Daddy thinks that it looks like a tablecloth. According to Daddy all gingham looks like a tablecloth.)

July 24, 2010 Young's Dairy Farm

Mommy was craving some ice cream, so we loaded up the car and drove to Young's Dairy Farm by Yellow Springs. (This trip was the maximum distance away that Mommy's Doctor would let her travel because of the baby. We have been missing PawPaw and Grandma Duffy.)

At the Dairy farm we were able to pet some animals.

Young's Dairy Farm has some other cool things to do, like a huge slide, putt-putt, kiddie area, and a pretty good restaurant. It was getting pretty close to nap, so we had to leave after the animals. Next time we'll have to stay a bit longer and play.

July 11, 2010 Catching toads in the yard

Grandma Duffy gave me this really cool bug catcher.

It turned out to be the perfect home for the two toads I found.

I had to reassure them that they would be okay.

July 11,2010 At the playground

Mommy and I went to the playground one day and she snapped a few shots.
I am getting so big that I can climb up the tricky parts of the playground.

This little boy and I played chase - I had a blast!

July 19, 2010 Slate Run Farm

Mommy, Daddy and I went to the farm on this pretty July day.
This is Slate Run Farm a real working historic farm

I was so excited that I ran ahead of everyone.
(Plus Mommy is pretty slow with her big belly)

I loved chasing this peculiar duck around.

I sat still just long enough for Mommy to take this picture; I really had no interest in this cute little cow. ( Mommy could not believe that I didn't want to pet it - it was so cute!)

I was able to pet this BIG horse. He was all sweaty because they just plowed the field.

I loved the pigs! Daddy made sure that I kept my hands away from them, but I kept saying how CUTE they were.
(Mommy really didn't know that pigs really lie in their own feces and she was disgusted by them. She kept trying to make me go back to the calf, but I prefer the ugly animals.)

I also thought the turkey was fascinating - unlike Mommy and Daddy who agreed that the turkey is probably the ugliest animal on earth (aside from the opossum)

I did pet some lambs through the fence.
In fact, they ran over to me as I walked up because they wanted to be pet (or fed).

It was really hot.
By the way, Mommy loves this cute little shirt and Daddy thinks it looks like a poor person's tablecloth. In fact, he talked about my outfit numerous times throughout the day. Apparently Daddy hates gingham.

Looking over the bridge with Mommy.
(The ducks were swimming in the creek below to escape from me.)
In future posts, you will probably begin to see numerous pictures where I don't look at the camera. It is my new thing - to say cheese while looking at the ground or to the side.
Daddy and I were pretty good at the stilts when we worked together.

I was so tired after a long day of farm life.
This is my stalling tactic because Mommy could see a storm coming and wanted to make it to the car before the rain. I don't really understand the word "hurry" or "quickly". Mommy thinks I know exactly what they mean and then I choose to take the opposite meaning.

Look how tall the corn is! - In July

July 4, 2010 Weekend at Aunt Debbie's cabin

I love my Uncle Brian.

Mommy and Daddy told me we were going to ride in a boat.
I didn't know it would be on the ground!

I am walking the plank matey.

I am a great climber.

This was so much fun that I convinced Daddy to jump with me.

Grandma found me some silly glasses to add to my costume box.

Here I am on the paddle boat with Grandma and Aunt Debbie.

I loved looking at the fish that Parker caught.

They even had a lifevest for me and Mommy made me wear one constantly.

Grandpa and I are discussing footprint art.

I am practicing for when Uncle Larry takes us out on the water.

Riding on the boat with Mommy.
She was so sad that she couldn't got tubing or water skiing this year.

Aunt Debbie took me out on the raft, while Uncle Larry pulled us.
(Grandma almost had an anxiety attack.)

This kid who is always with us is Parker. He is Uncle Larry's nephew and wanted to hang with us because I guess we are a lot more fun than his family.
(Actually, his sister had a soccer game, so he came with his Mom and the rest of his family didn't come until later.)
Parker convinced Daddy to take us out in the paddle boat and then mysteriously "hurt his foot" when it was time to paddle back in.
I would have helped. but my feet didn't reach the peddles.
(Daddy said I did "help" by moving the steering lever a lot.)

I had to take another look at the fish to see if they were still alive.

My personal 1 manpower boat.

Uncle Larry has this cool invention. He takes garden hose, cuts it into pieces and puts in in a copper pipe. Then he drills holes in the pipe and we put it in the fire. The chemical reaction between the copper and tubing make the fire turn blue and green. (I'm sure the toxic fumes were perfectly safe for the baby - good thing he didn't turn out to be mutant, or we would have known who to blame.)

In fact, I am thinking this "magic" fire may cause our son to have mystical powers where he can see into the future, grant wishes, and possibly cast spells.
(Talk about becoming the family favorite!)
Grandma found these funny wigs at a flea market.
She always finds deals on things that we can't live without.

This is Andrew, Mommy's cousin's son.
(I'll have to ask Aunt Becky what relation that is to me - second cousin, once removed?)
He is a few months younger than me, but we got along very well. We loved the sandbox.

I played with these water toys on the dock.

This is one of Mommy's favorite pictures.

I helped Andrew a lot. I told him where to go, what to play with, how to play with it, what to eat, where to sit, etc... We were great friends.

Mommy came and got me out of bed to watch fireworks that Uncle Larry set off.

I had S'Mores - Yummy!

Daddy stayed up late and played beer pong. Apparantly Uncle Brian was superior to all others.
Did I mention that Andrew doesn't talk very much? This is another reason we got on so well - I did not have to compete to dominate the conversation.

Love that sandbox.

Here's the whole family.
We couldn't get any where the kids were actually looking at the camera.

I get the giggles when Uncle Brian and Ann tickle me.
